Tips to Love Your Body During Your Period
Swollen breasts, bloated belly, fatigue, irritability + unreliable period protection? Every month during your period, you find Mother Nature quite ungrateful. What if you learned to love your body during this phase of your cycle? To see it differently, listen to it, pamper it, admire it?
Step 1: Celebrate Being a Woman
You don’t choose your sex, that’s for sure, but whether you’re happy with the result of the chromosome lottery or not, you can always learn to love yourself. During your period, remember that it is directly linked to your fertility. Life flows within you, embrace your sacred femininity.

Step 2: Banish Embarrassment
Even in the 21st century, menstrual blood remains taboo, or at least embarrassing, depending on the culture. Stop! There’s no reason to be ashamed of our nature. You might not have to give many details when you go to change, but you’re also not forced to hide your pain at work or elsewhere. Speak up.
Step 3: Choose Your Period Protection Wisely
We all have well-established habits regarding our hygiene products. But are they good? Some prefer internal protections like tampons or the cup. For comfort, aesthetics, or ecological awareness (cup side). But internal protections need to be changed at most every 4 hours to avoid toxic shock syndrome risks. Ideally, let menstrual blood flow naturally. And for external protection, nothing beats menstrual panties. They combine comfort, discretion, aesthetics, and can be worn for 12 hours straight without leaks!
For heavy flow days, don’t forget to equip yourself with menstrual panties for heavy flow that will keep you calm for the same amount of time!
Step 4: Take Care of Yourself
During this phase of your cycle, don’t see your body as your enemy. On the contrary, listen to it. If your periods are painful, try pain-relieving herbal teas, massage your belly, soothe yourself with a hot water bottle. Rest when you can. But also move! Don’t stay still during your period; blood needs to circulate, and you need to release dopamine, the happiness hormone. Take a walk or do some gentle yoga.
Step 5: Treat Yourself
Without rushing for sweets, don’t deprive yourself of some tasty pleasures :) Start with chocolate if your hormones are craving it. Yes, (dark) chocolate relieves menstrual pain. Also favor a diet rich in iron and magnesium but low in fat to avoid feeling heavy and depressed. Dried fruits, fish, and vitamin-rich fruit juices are your allies.
Step 6: Pamper Yourself
Having your period doesn’t have to mean pajamas. Forget clothes that squeeze your belly; think softness and comfort. But wear clothes that make you feel beautiful! A soft menstrual panty will slip under all your sexy outfits.
Step 7: Cuddle Up
Making love during your period is an excellent painkiller. It can be awkward or off-putting, but it’s something you can learn. With well-protected sheets, taboos out of the way, and sensations noticed, the pleasure remains intense. Your body is beautiful every day of your cycle!
